Distribution in Britain & IrelandFound on the south-west coasts of Britain and Ireland from the coasts of Devon as far north as the Isle of Man and as far west as County Kerry, less common in the North Sea.
Global distributionFound in north-west Europe from the coasts of Denmark to north France, in the east Mediterranean off Greece and Turkey and in southern Africa off the coasts of South Africa.
