Help us to maintain, update and develop the MarLIN website and its content. Help us keep access to the website free.
The MarLIN programme was designed to showcase the marine biodiversity of the British Isles and provide independent information on our marine life, based on scientific evidence alone, for everybody and every stakeholder, free at the point of use. Our website and its content are a 'living resource'. It needs to be updated constantly to keep up with new ideas and new information in marine science, changes in taxonomy, and changes in internet and computing technology. And it needs to be based on scientific evidence alone, not influenced by government imperatives, policy or the fashionable 'idea' of the time. But our independence and our time require financial support. Our host organization is a charity and we do not want to resort to paid advertising and spoil the user experience.
For example, most of our species' information is not funded. These pages are maintained by volunteers and a limited amount of unfunded editorial staff time. New content and substantial updates are dependent on interns and volunteers.
Your support is crucial to the development of the website and its content. So if you value what MarLIN provides please give what you can. Thanks in advance.
